2021 Virtual Graduation and Graduation Awards

On the 15th of June 2021 we celebrated (virtually) the graduation of our fantastic class of 2021.

We will of course have the opportunity to participate in a fully-fledged graduation ceremony in the future on campus and will get to wear your graduation gown. For this online celebration, however, there was no dress code, and everyone was invited to bring along a brightly coloured drink of their choice.

At the party, English, Creative Writing and Journalism programmes announced their graduation PRIZES for academic achievement and best project.

The English graduation award winners are:

Outstanding Academic Achievement in English: Jodie Louise Hammond

Best Independent Project in English: Marisa Sonay Pavli

Each prize comes with a certificate and a generous voucher.

Huge congratulations to the two deserving winners and all out great 2021 English graduates!

2020 Winners of English Graduation Prizes

Every year, the executive dean of our Faculty awards two prizes to BA English graduates, based on the recommendation of the June assessment board.

We would normally call out the names of the prize winners at the July Graduation ceremony, which unfortunately had to be postponed, due to social distancing etc. We therefore, held a ‘virtual’ graduation party with our finalists to announce this year’s very deserving winners:

  • Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in English: Yvonne Alexander-Taylor
  • Award for Best Independent Project in English: Claire Cusack

Huge congratulations to the two winners! They will be rewarded with a Letter from the Executive Dean and also a generous voucher for online purchases.

And of course well done to all our graduates for all their achievements over the past three years!

P.S., check Yvonne’s great new blog documenting the highs and lows of becoming a first-class English graduate.
